Over on the not-a-subdomain website, I recently reviewed the 2009 GI Joe film. The character of the Baroness in that movie was… lacking, but at least she wore fur. I thought about some alternate reality casting for one of my favorite characters.

Up first Irish actress Katie McGrath. She’s got the hair, and, as someone from the UK, she’s obligated to have a wonderful phony Russian accent. (UK actors always played Russians in the ’80s).

Trained checkpoint bonanza here. While the usual suspects are represented, Clarity and Realistic Vision, I started shopping around for alternatives.

Cinematic Diffusion produced some interesting results, but it’s really hard to work with. Either that or I haven’t found the right negative balance.

Experience Realistic was a similar story, with a side of unremitting horniness. Seriously, I hammered NSFW negatives and it still proudly chose tiddy more often than not. Again… if that’s what you’re looking for…

Standard Photoshop disclaimer: eye fixes, noise, color grading. I colorized one coat and if you notice some suspiciously well-formed Cobra symbols, they were not part of the original generation.

Also, it took way too long for me to diagnose why I kept getting one out of every ten-odd renders with black wings on her back.
